Is middle back pain normal in pregnancy?

A few weeks ago, my back stopped hurting at the bottom, and has been hurting for a while around the middle, a little next to my right shoulder blade. It’s so annoying and uncomfortable. How can I get it to stop hurting? I’m 25 weeks pregnant.

YES! your body is going though many changes, your body is responding to the demands of your powerful hormones and that babys needs. make sure u tell your OB during your next vist to keep them up to date and might i suggest a heating pad to relax u, or a nice hot shower!, even a massage will help, you cant take pain killers so. also if pains are really hard pains go to the hospital dont wait! keep you Ob informed. some gals go though alot with the pregnancy. god bless you and your new baby

This is a fairly normal phenomenon due to the fact that as weeks go by the baby’s weight and the weight of everything surrounding it increases, putting a heavier strain on you. In order to compensate this a pregnant woman adopts a position putting a heavy strain on her lumbar vertebrae. Try lumbar cushions. All the best.

Yes back pain at this level of pregnancy is normal to do the counterbalancing that must occur. In addition this will cause misalignment in your spine.

I would recommend that you call around to the local chiropractors and ask them if they have the table that has the stomach drop piece for pregnant women. This is a special table that has a piece that drops to allow the pregnant woman to be able to lie on her stomach. This will help take a lot of pressure off your back. In addition, a chiropractic adjustment to your middle and upper spine will really help your back pain and stability and it is perfectly safe for your child.

I know one chiropractor who rents his table out ot pregnant women just so they can lie down on their stomach for 30 minutes. It is very comfortable for them. They are very appreciative of that table.

I hope this helps. I really wish you and your babay the best.
