Is it normal to have painful middle back pain at 37 weeks pregnant?

My back has been hurting ever since I woke this morning, and I have put a heating pad on it and it doesn’t seem to of made a difference. I am not dilated (well at least the doctor hasn’t told me if I am or not) but she has turned. When I was walking from my bedroom to our living room earlier, my back pain seemed to be worse then when I am laying down. Should I contact a doctor about my pain or wait it out and see if it goes away?

It’s totally normal. Could be contractions?

Id contact your doctor, could be labour. Especially where it gets worse when you walk. Is it constant, or does it come and go?

Your back pain could be caused by a number of normal things. The two most likely is either that the baby is pushing on your sciatic nerve and causing back pain, or you are going into early labor. Give your doctor a call, they will likely ask you to describe your pain which will give them a better idea of what the cause is.

Call your doctor right away you may be in labor! My baby was born at 36 weeks.

I had terrible back labor with both my first two. I would call your doctor if it isn’t subsiding. If you notice that it gets worse, better, then worse -I would think that you are in labor. Call!
