Sleep with a heating pad, and when you wake up in the morning do back stretches and "re set" your back. You can do this by laying on your back on a firm, but not hard surface (a carpeted floor or gymnastics mat is ideal). Lay flat then pull your legs into your chest and 'hug' your knees. Relax in this position for 10-20 seconds. Then slightly rock back and forth in this fetal-like positions to massage out your spine. Do this for about 20 seconds, and then rest again for another 10-20 seconds. also, wearing supportive shoes can help a hurting back a lot too. Hope this helps!

If you are in your 2nd or 3rd trimester, sleep or lie on your left side -never on your back. The weight from your belly puts pressure on the placenta and can cause deprivation of oxygen to your baby.

Here are some easy to follow muscle releasing techniques that will get rid of that pain for you.
Mid back:
Put one hand over the other shoulder and with your fingertips find the muscle next to your spine and press in on it and hold.
Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don't tense up any part of your body.
After 30 seconds, slowly lower yourself onto your other leg, right shoulder to left leg.
Release the pressure but hold your body there for one minute. do the other side.
For lumbar region
Put both hands behind you on the muscles next to your spine where the pain is located. Press in on the muscles and hold.
Relax again.
When the muscles release, 30 to 60 seconds, lower yourself onto your lap as far as you can.
Release the pressure but hold your body there for one minute.

A cane is an awesome way to relieve back pain. Usually, the cane is held in the hand opposite to the pain. So, you would just alternate side to side as you go.

You need to stretch and strengthen your core (stomach) muscles. If these muscles are not stretched and strengthened then they cannot support your back adequately. don't know your age (not a big deal anyway) or back issues, but I have arthritis in/on my spine and the cold wet weather is a killer. The pain can come and go as the low pressure system comes and goes. Even then stretching can help alot.
Posture is another BIG issue. make sure that your back is straight (not arched) and shoulders are back. If you start to feel feverish and pain/discomfort gets worse, see you doctor.

OK it sounds like you have several things going on.

First, a misalignment in your upper back can definitely cause this type of pain. This causes the muscles in your upper back to pull in ways they are not supposed to. This adds to the pain of being misaligned.

Secondly, poor posture and sleeping on your side can also contribute to this. If your shoulders are forward, then it will put a stretch on the muscles in your middle and upper back. This can cause pain between the shoulder blades.

As for treatment, the best person to go to would be a chiropractor. They will be able to examine you and diagnose what is really going on. Then more than likely, they can adjust you and correct the misalignment. This will provide some relief from the muscles that are working improperly.

As for the posture issue, You need to stretch out your pec muscles and strengthen your middle and lower traps. You can look online for ways to do that. Look up the doorway pec stretch and an exercise for strenghtening the middle and lower trapezius muscles.

I really wish you the best

It could be pain resulting from mineral build-up in your kidneys, which just indicates that you are not drinking enough water. Supposedly 90% of all Americans are at least 10% dehydrated at any given moment(stats class last semester), so isn't uncommon. Drinking 8 glasses of water/day has been recommended for a long time, but that's really more than most people with average level of activity need. Ideally, try to drink about 5 8 oz glasses a day, or just carry around a 1 LT all day, fill it up when it's empty. 1 Liter is 33.8 FL oz, so if you drink one and a half, that's plenty. A good way to know if it is your kidneys fast is drink two 8 oz glasses of cranberry juice back-to-back (come on, they're small), then see if the pain has improved within 2 hours. Kidneys break down those aforementioned minerals in your kidneys. I hope this helps you out. If you still feel pain or suspect it may be due to some physical activity, try taking an aspirin; it should help the pain and thin your blood out a bit.
