There are many people in the world that hate the idea of taking medications for any pain, even when it’s something as debilitating as back pain. If you’re one of these people but you suffer from acute to moderate pain in your back, shoulders and neck, then remedies and stretches may be what you need to get relief. It’s certainly something that you should consider trying so you can find out if it can help get rid of your pain without prescription drugs or surgery.

There are several remedies available that you can try such as Tylenol and Ibuprofen that you can buy over-the-counter. If your pain is not too severe, these can help. You can also use a heating pad, ice pack and get the rest you need in order for your body to heal itself. When you combine these remedies with stretches designed to reduce back pain together, you have a great treatment plan that can truly work to alleviate the pain you feel in your back.

Now, the first thing that you may be thinking is that you don’t want to stretch and exercise when you’re in so much pain but that is the wrong way to think. The truth is that stretches can actually help to ease back pain in many people depending on what is causing the pain. It can be much easier to get motivated and start the stretches when you know that it will make you feel much better in the end.

When you stretch, you’re keeping your muscles and ligaments flexible, which in turn will help to reduce the stress on the joints and it helps to improve blood flow. It helps to prevent stiffness, gives you a wider range of motion and helps to reduce your pain all at the same time. Stretching before you do any physical labor will also help to reduce your risk of injuring your back.

There are a variety of stretches that can be very useful that include the shoulder roll, neck stretches, back extensions and hip twist. All of these can help to ease your pain but you will need to give it a little time to work. This is especially true if you’ve been suffering with back pain for a long time.

Before you decide to use remedies and stretches for back pain it’s recommended that you seek the advice of your health care provider. This is especially important if you don’t know the reason for your pain, if it’s severe or if you have other medical problems. You don’t want to do more damage to your back than you already have.

In most instances, these remedies and stretches is a great idea that can truly help. However, occasionally, there will be an exception to every rule and checking with your doctor will eliminate the possibility of making things worse. Once you’ve done that, you can enjoy all the benefits and relief they provide.
